hard week

This week was a hard week to get through for a number of reasons. First of all the workout I did last Sunday seemed to kill my legs for about 3-4 days for some reason. I tried to do one of my workouts on Tuesday but my legs didn't want to cooperate. So Wednesday I tried again and was able to get through 20x400 meters. (well 19.5) I felt strong, like a runner again...but 2 days later I couldn’t get though a shorter workout and a relatively slow pace. My legs are protesting and are not responding, perhaps its the heat, i'm not entirely sure what it could be but I just gotta push through it.

I realized that I need to keep a better running log than just how many miles I ran that day. I've been pretty much relying on my garmin and garmin connect to keep track of how far I’m running, but I need to start tracking my times on my workouts and how I feel, as well as the extra stuff I should be doing like core, strides, lifting and yoga. In high school I kept track of everything, from what time I woke up to what time and what I was eating. Everything was tracked, and I could look back on times and training from the whole year. This is what I need to do again.

Another thing I need to start being serious about is getting my long run in, Ive definitely been lacking the long run in my training and maybe it's because anything over 10 miles to me feels like death. I know though that with the summer and beautiful spring that’s here I can start just buckling down and doing it, especially if I can get on the trails.

I feel like if I start waking up earlier and running then it will be easier to feel good when the temperature is cooler, I will be able to do the extra that will make me feel good. It's just soo hard to get into that schedule when I feel more productive at night but if I’m running earlier it might be easier to get my core and yoga in.

Lastly my weight is really annoying, it seems to be if I eat too little I feel like shit, and if I try to eat more my weight jumps up, no matter what I run I can't seem to lose weight. It's insanely frustrating especially since I have a new goal weight of 145. That may seem a bit low but if my goals are 800/1500 then I need to be fit enough to run a 1500 without carrying extra weight.
